Getting to Nantucket without a charter means a ferry or a connection, which is why so much of the island’s summer traffic arrives by private aircraft.
Catering on Board
Catering is ordered for your trip specifically rather than chosen from a fixed menu, and on Nantucket it is sourced on the mainland and carried out, which means the order closes earlier than you might expect.
Dietary Requirements
Dietary requirements, allergies and religious observance are all straightforward provided we know in advance.
Short Legs and Short Notice
Nantucket to Boston is under an hour in the air, so on the shortest legs there is simply not time to serve a full meal. We will tell you that rather than let you order when it is not recommended or necessary, and catering on a short-notice booking may not be possible at all.
Nantucket-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
There is no customs on Nantucket. An international arrival clears on the mainland first, and Cape Cod Gateway Airport at Hyannis is the nearest customs landing rights airport. Martha’s Vineyard has no customs either, so island-hopping does not solve it.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Before we confirm anything, we check:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- The operator’s safety and incident history
- That the pilots are experienced, qualified and current on the aircraft type you will be flying on
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them
